Internet Businesses Joining Condolence on Death of Former President

On May 27, the fifth day since the death of former President Roh Moo-hyun, many figures from the politics and the economy visited the Seoul History Museum to pay their tribute to the former president. Not only chairmen of major companies but also CEOs of IT companies visited.
Hyundai-Kia Motor Group¡¯s Chairman Jung Mong-gu also visited the museum with his executives at 9 AM. Kumho Asiana¡¯s Chairman Park Sam-gu and presidents also visited after their meeting on Wednesday. Samsung¡¯s Chairman Lee Soo-bin and 30 presidents also paid tributes to the former president. Chairman Lee said in his brief meeting with the press, ¡°His death gave a shock and sorrow to the public. He did remarkable things to the public.¡±

Lotte Group¡¯s Vice Chairman Shin Dong-bin also visited with a group of presidents and expressed his tributes. LS Group¡¯s Chairman Gu Ja-hong also visited the museum with LS Cable Chairman Gu Ja-yul and 10 presidents. Samsung Electronics Advisory Lee Hak-su also visited the museum to pay tributes. He is a high school alumnus of the former president. In addition, Vice Chairman Oh Yung-ho of the Korea International Trade Association visited. Iljin Group¡¯s Chairman Hur Jin-kyu, Hwachun Machinery Engineering Chairman Kwon Yung-rul, E1 Vice Chairman Ku Ja-yong and Cablerex President Kim Tae-hee also paid a visit.

CEOs of internet companies joined the condolence visit. Chairman Hur Jin-ho of the Internet Business Association, Chairman Kim Chang-hee of the Korea Internet Autonomy Policy Organization and NHN CEO Kim Sang-hun also visited the museum.
Meanwhile, the official website of the former president has had more than 400,000 visits per day since his death with the highest visit of 600,000 on May 23.
On the Internet, many users are expressing their tributes to the former president in various ways, particularly by writing songs.

Particularly, Ultra Condition, an independent band, wrote ¡°We Believe¡± which has been shared by more than 10,000 users in just three days with more than 800,000 hits. It is provided with the memorial video content for the former president¡¯s life.
